From idea to a tangible object
I am an educated technical designer from Denmark and design objects that work — custom solutions, spare parts, prototypes, and small-scale production. The design is created in CAD, and the object here at home in South Iceland.
A good object starts with the right design
I am an educated technical designer from Denmark. The profession is about understanding what an object should do — stress, dimensions, material, assembly — and designing it so it works. That work takes place in CAD, long before anything is manufactured.
Whether you need a single custom-made spare part, a prototype for a product, or a small production run — you get a designer who follows the object from idea to finished version, all in one place here in South Iceland.
Educated technical designer
Education in technical design from Denmark and experience in CAD design of components in Solidworks. You get an object designed right from the start.
Designed and manufactured in Iceland
Everything is created here at home in South Iceland. No import fees, no customs, no waiting for weeks — and you talk directly to the designer.
The design is yours
When the object is designed, you own the file. Easy to produce more, change or develop further — you are not stuck with one copy.
Sigurmundur Páll — technical designer
I studied technical design (teknisk designer) in Denmark and worked at Carmo a/s in Denmark designing and 3D modeling components in Solidworks. There you learn that an object is not finished when it looks good — but when it can withstand use.
Today I use the same methods for people and companies in Iceland — from single spare parts to their own product lines.

What can I design for you?
Custom design from scratch
You describe the object — I design it in CAD from A to Z. Correct dimensions, correct tolerance, correct functionality. Professional technical design, not a template from the net.
Recreation of components
Broken or unavailable object? I measure it and draw an exact replica — and even improve it where the original design failed.
Prototypes
Test the idea in your hands before you produce in bulk. A quick way from sketch to a tangible prototype that can be improved.
Spare parts
Handle, bracket, gear, case — small parts that nobody sells anymore. I redesign them and manufacture them here at home.
Small-scale production
Do you need 10, 50, or 200 copies of the same object? Produced in series with consistent quality and a fixed price.
Design consulting
Do you have an idea but don't know if it works? We go over functionality, materials, endurance, and execution before anything is produced.
What few others offer
Logos and colors — directly in the object
Up to four colors or materials in the same object. Company logos, numbers, or markings become part of the object itself — no stickers that peel off.
Large objects in one piece
Objects up to 34 cm on a side produced in one piece — no assemblies, no weak points. Larger solutions designed in modular units that snap together.
Precision that fits
Manufacturing precision within 0.05 mm. Threads work, fasteners snap, and components fit with what is already there — the first time.
The right material for the right project
From visual models to structural parts that withstand heat, weather, and stress. Material selection is part of the design — we choose it based on what the object is meant to do.
PLA / PLA+
For visual objects, models, and indoor use. Sharp outlines and a wide range of colors.
PETG
Strong and tough. For objects that need to withstand impact, moisture, and daily use — the same material as the dart arms.
TPU (flexible)
Rubber-like material for seals, grip surfaces, cushions, and objects that need to bend without breaking.
ABS / ASA
Heat and weather-resistant materials for objects that stand outside in the sun and frost — brackets, covers, and components for cars and equipment.
Nylon & carbon fiber reinforced
For structural parts that take real loads — gears, arms, and brackets. Stiff, wear-resistant, and light.
High-tech materials
PC, PPA, and PPS for the most demanding projects — extreme heat, chemical stress, and industrial use. Evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Four steps to a finished object
Idea
You send me a sketch, photo, dimensions, or just a description. I evaluate what is possible and make a quote.
Design
I draw the object in CAD and send you an image for approval. You see exactly what you get before printing.
Printing
Right material, right settings. Printed here at home with supervision — no import fees, no waiting time from abroad.
Delivery
Picked up in Hvolsvöllur or sent anywhere in the country. The file is saved so it's easy to order more copies later.
Own product — designed from scratch and sold today

Autodarts camera arms
I designed arms that hold cameras in exact position over a dartboard — measured, stress-calculated, and produced in PETG. Sold today as a ready system. Your object gets the same workmanship.

Do I need to send a ready drawing?
No. You can send an STL or STEP file if you have it, but it is not necessary at all. Most people just send me a photo, dimensions, or a description, and I draw the object from scratch in CAD.
How much does this cost?
It depends on the size, material, and how complex the design is. The design work is priced separately, and printing depends on material volume. Send me a description and you will receive a fixed quote before anything is done.
How large objects can you produce?
Single objects up to 34 cm on a side in one piece. Larger solutions I design in modular units that snap or screw together — tell me the size and I will find a solution.
Can you produce objects in more than one color?
Yes — up to four colors or materials in the same object. That means company logos, text, or markings are produced directly into the object and never fade off. Material properties can also be mixed, e.g., a stiff object with a soft grip surface.
Can you recreate an object that is broken?
Usually yes. If I can get my hands on the broken object or good pictures with dimensions, I can measure it and draw an exact replica, which can then be printed again.
How long does this take?
A simple object can be ready in a few days. More complex design or series production takes longer — I will give you a timeframe with the quote.
Do you only print if I send a file?
Yes, I also take on pure printing if you have a ready file. But my specialty is the design — I can help you fix the file so it prints well, or design the object completely for you.
Do you have an object in mind?
Send me a sketch, photo, or just a description of what you need. You will receive a fixed quote before anything is designed or printed.
